"The Day That Jesus Died"
No other day in human history so affected mankind as did that day, Friday, April 7, 30 A.D.
I. The Day That Jesus Died Was A Day Of Destiny.
A. It was a prophesied day; Genesis 3:15, Isaiah 53:3-5.
B. It was a pivotal day; Romans 5:8-10. The door of Salvation swings on the hinges of the cross.
II. The Day Jesus Died Was A Day Of Disturbance, (Pilate’s wife)
A. There was the disturbance of the pathos of that day. This was the darkest day of human history. "Well might the sun in darkness hide…"
B. There was the disturbance of the pain of that day. No one ever suffered like Jesus; Isaiah 53:3-6, Matthew 27. "None of the ransomed ever knew…"
III. The Day That Jesus Died Was A Day Of Declarations. ("Over His head was written…", but there were other declarations.)
A. God declared His love for mankind, Romans 5:8.
B. God declared that salvation was offered to all, Romans 5:9-10.
C. God declared that peace could be found in Jesus, Romans 5:11.
D. God declared victory over sin and Satan, Romans 5:10, Col. 2: 13-15.
IV. The Day That Jesus Died Was A Day Of Decisions.
A. Pilot decided to ignore Him, Matthew 27:24.
B. The crowd decided to reject Him, Matthew 27: 22-23, 25.
C. The repentant thief decided to believe in Him, Luke 23: 40-43.
