"The Test for Revival"
Nehemiah 8:1-10

ETS:  The Israelites displayed evidences of true revival at the completion of the wall.

ESS:  Christians will display evidences of true revival.

OSS:  I want my hearers to test themselves to see if they have the evidences of true revival.

1. HARMONY AMONG THE PEOPLE

"...the people gathered as one..." (8:1)

2. HUNGER FOR THE WORD

"...all the people were attentive to the book of the law..." (8:3)

3. HONOR FOR THE LORD

"...they bowed low and worshiped the Lord..." (8:6)

4. HATRED FOR SIN

"all the people were weeping when they heard..." (8:9)

5. HAPPINESS IN THE LORD

"...for the joy of the Lord is your strength..." (8:10)
