“When You Say ‘No’”
Mark 10:17-22

A young man came running to Jesus with the question, "What must I do that I may inherit eternal life?" When Jesus asked him to give up all he had to follow Christ the young man went away "sad" and "grieved" for he had great possessions. This was a sad occasion indeed as it is every time someone considers Christ, only to walk away from Him in unbelief. There is no middle ground. One must say "yes" to the claims of Christ or they must say "no." When you say "no" you.

I. Turn Away From Life's Very Best.
In John 10 Jesus said that He came to give life and that "more abundantly." The devil gives counterfeit, deceptive life but Jesus gives life full and free here and eternal in Heaven. When you say "no" you.

II. Place Yourself On The Devil's Side.
Jesus said, in Matthew 12:30, "He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad." When you say "no" to Christ you embrace all that Satan stands for. When you say "no" to Christ you.

III. Ignore Reason
Isaiah 1:18 says, "Come, let us reason together, says the Lord." The most rational response to the love, mercy, forgiveness, and life offered by Jesus Christ is to say "yes." When you say "no" you...

IV. Deny Reality
You deny the reality of.

When you say "no" you.

V. Close The Door To God's Grace
God's grace extends the offer of the free gift of eternal life. We are saved by grace, His unmerited favor, not by our goodness or works. The person who refuses to come to God by faith in Christ refuses to come to God at all. There is no other way. When you say "no" you.

VI. Insult God, Luke 14
In this parable, the master of the feast became angry (insulted) when his invitation to the banquet was rejected. Nothing insults God more than saying "no" to His Son. When you say "no" you.

VII. Gamble With Eternity
All of us will die. All of us will spend eternity either in Heaven (by the grace of God) or in Hell (as a result of our unbelief). Every time we say "no" we are gambling that we will have another opportunity before we die to say "yes." When you say "no" you.

VIII. Choose Your Eternal Destiny
There is a Heaven. There is a Hell. You choose! John 3:16-18 tells us, "He that believeth not is condemned already because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." When you say "no" you.

IX. Believe A Lie
Satan is the father of lies. Jesus is the "way, the truth, and the life." Satan will tell you "Tomorrow will be a better time," "You can't hold out," "Wait for a feeling," "You are not that bad," "Wait until you get everything worked out in your life," or "You are too bad to be saved." The devil is a liar. When you say "no" you.

X. Join Hands With The Greatest Fools Of All Time

Conclusion: Say "yes" to Jesus Christ as Lord of your life today. Romans 10:9-13.
